The Beginning

Completion Time: 45 Days

This is where our story began; in 2010 after I got married we were staying on the same floor as my parents. We soon realized that we needed some privacy and a space for just us and also a place to entrain our friends without disturbing the other members of the family. Taking a place on rent was not an option and we could not afford buying a place. One day I was just strolling on the terrace which was never used only the house help used to go to check the water tanks. After talking to my wife and my parents I decided that I will fabricate a house using metal and panels, a small place to start with and keep on adding more as time demands. With some knowledge in this industry due to the experience I gained in Australia, I gathered a team from my father’s factory (highly experienced staff in heavy metal structures) and connected with my contacts in an Australian Modular Housing Company and we started. It took us 45 days to complete our first project our home.

We started with a 1 bhk apartment and in the future created another room for our twins, a room for the nannies, a pantry and two small balconies.

While I was building our house I realized my passion and I decided to take this forward and make this into a business. Soon after we finished the project we got calls from neighbors and family who were eager to understand the benefits, drawbacks, costs, limits and before we knew it we got our first official order to build a small staff room in 10 days after.

Creating this space became a big selling point for us also in business perspective; people are very skeptical living in a metal house as it is still a fairly new concept. We had many questions does it get hot, will it fly off with the wind, will it get flooded in the rain etc., we had only one answer for them we live in what we are selling to you , if any of the above would happen or it was not safe or as good as a civil constructed house I would not make my family live in it .

The Toddler Room

Completion Time: 20 Days

We were approached by a young couple who were expecting a baby and had space constraint. They had a passage available next to an existing room.

Requirement of the client: They wanted something simple yet attractive and warm. Their key requirement was that the toddler’s room should be attached to their room.

Our Solution: We worked on the client’s requirement and came out with a design which would blend in with the existing settings. To attach both the rooms together we broke the civil wall and created a sliding aluminum sliding door to save on space. We encased thick cloth material in the middle of the glass to create some color and provide privacy.

We used some light colors for the interior walls and added a lot of big windows to give more depth to the room. For a lot of natural light to enter, we used large windows. As the house already had a beautiful lush green garden, we used natural wood color design PVC panels.

Terrace Conversion: Makeover of an old terrace along with creating a living area for a young guy who was studying in Australia and got stuck in India due to the first pandemic wave.

Requirement: Independence and space as he was sharing space with his parents and grandparents. The client also mentioned that he likes entertaining people.

Our Offer: After inspecting his terrace which was only used to dry clothes and store old worn off items, we designed a nice sit out area along with cane furniture, a few rugs and as the back lanes were visible we covered that view with bamboo. We added two wall lights on the entrance to give a European feel to the house

We used solid cement panels to create the room along with a big glass door and a fixed window for natural light. As the client was on a tight budget we inspected his old furniture and revamped the old couch into a nice green Chester field couch, polished the old bed and added some light color cloth on the head of the bed along with wooden tile flooring.

Requirement: One of the most interesting and fun projects. The client initially told us that he was running out of space and he required a small storage area next to his room. He also mentioned that he hosts a lot and in the future would need a small unit for himself rather than using his parent’s space, but he was not ready for that right now as he was on a tight budget.

Solution: After studying the area and understanding the cost difference between creating a storage unit and a living space, we got back to the client. We went through the design that we had created for him but we would be just a little over the budget that he had, he agreed instantly and asked us to initiate the work immediately.

Design: As he was really interested in the bohemian culture, we decided that we would create the interiors and the exterior of the living space accordingly. We started with knocking off the middle wall and joining his bedroom and the living room together to create a larger open space. We designed our space in accordance with the already existing waterfall that was there. We used a lot of plants to give it a warm feeling, raw wood panels, wooden flooring, LED Long hanging lights and painted one of the walls red to give it some glamour

To the exterior, we added a deck with wooden tiles and iron hanging lights , we also installed artificial grass to give it a more finished look. At the end it all came together beautifully

Client's Requirement: The client was living in a flat with the terrace ownership. Due to his health problems he could not travel to work and wanted to create an office for himself at home. After, understanding the space he wanted to convert, and the available space he had in his house, we explained him the benefits of creating an independent space.

We decided to utilize the unused terrace space. After providing him with a detailed design, he agreed but he wanted to have the permanent rear wall with tiles to be a part of the office as he has just invested some money in it recently.

Our Solution: We created our unit joining our panels to the rear wall and created a passage area near the entrance for storage and electrical boxes. The storage space inside the cabin is also created by using light, white polish and we have provided a long seating arrangement with under storage along with workstation, conference table and a comfortable recliner.

We have also provided a lot of windows for natural light and a large sliding door. The exterior is covered with light colored wood design panels

The Waiting

Completion Time: 20 Days

Client's Requirement: This was a learning project for us, as this cabin was created for a doctor’s clinic. The client’s husband and wife were very welcoming and their requirement was very simple - They required a waiting room for the patient, and in the evening it would be converted into a seminar training room.

They gave us a tour of their house and we narrowed down on a spot which was near the back side of the house which would not affect their privacy. They were very certain that we do minimalistic damage to the grass or the plants and create something which merges with the existing setting.

During the project, we got along really well with their children and shared some designs for the interior of the cabin and with combined efforts and brainstorming we came up with a perfect solution.

Key Notes: Client required a state-of-the-art, eye catching and a designer office. The client came with a good budget and wanted to convert his terrace space into an office space with workstations, pantry, meeting area and 2 bathrooms.

They required the area to be open and did not want to fill up the space; he also wanted to use this area along with the open area for hosting people. The client approached us with the list of things that could not be compromised and we promised him that we will deliver him his dream office space just the way he wants it.

While the project was in progress, we also kept adding various features like the exterior paneling, waterfall, artificial grass which the client was happy to give approvals for. Light colors were used along with windows wherever possible. We created a special design of the doors with a grid division which then ended up in being one of our most used designs in homes.

We did not let the client see the process till we did not complete the project and on the final day we got a big smile and a hug from the client and his family and that, for us, was a success.

Completion Time: 40 Days

Key Note: The client already had an old temporary structure built on his terrace out of metal sheets. The walls were all cracked open and the roof had major water leakage issues. The terrace was in a very torn down state. The client wanted to create a space for multiple purposes; he wanted to have his private office as he used to only work from home, a bed room and a lounge area. He also wanted an open space with a barbeque area, a lawn and a waterfall. He also wanted some elements on his existing terrace wall as there was a lot of wear and tear and he wanted a permanent solution. He was also a big fan of plants and wanted them to be put wherever they look nice aesthetically.

Solution: On our first visit, we could envision that this could be a great project and there was so much scope of work and elements that we could add. We understood what the client required and wanted and on our first formal design meeting with the client we were able to convince him and start with the project.

We created a floor 3D design with steel pipes to give an on ground experience with the space division of all the rooms. We divided the area into four parts - living room with an open modular kitchen space, restroom, a sliding partition door between the living room and the bedroom. We created the office space at the end of the cabin with a separate entry. We also created a deck area along with a pergola design using steel.

Aesthetically we provided wooden cladding on the exterior wall and used smoke grey along with a Stainless steel waterfall. We also cladded the existing wall with wooden panels and added some planters with spot lights. The client regularly came to see the progress and wanted to understand that fabrication process which we really appreciated as he had a vision and knew exactly what and how he wanted his space to be.

Relaxation

Completion Time: 20 Days

Key Note: The client was from Ireland and his wife was working in a school in India, they had just bought their house and got the terrace rights. On our first telephonic conversation, we discussed about our past projects and what material we use in India and how we manage the heat capacity inside the cabin, as this is going to be built on the terrace. He had a lot of questions as he was familiar with the pre-fabricated housing technology.

His requirements were simple - "I am retired and I need a space to relax and read and spend some me-time. The space that I want should have a lot of natural light but, at the same time, privacy, and the exterior walls should not look plain and simple. I want something different.

Solution: After understanding the client’s requirements, we came up with an alternate solution. Rather than using cement panels that we usually go with, we offered PUF insulated panels. These panels do not let heat come inside the room and maintain the temperature inside.

We cladded the exterior walls with wooden cladding and installed large sliding doors with one side frosted dark glass, we also created a small storage space. For relaxation and reading, installed a hanging couch. We placed large palm plants on either side to give it a more soothing effect.

The client was very happy with the end product and also referred few of his friends to us.

Prayer

Completion Time: 20 Days

Key Note: The client’s requirement was to build a prayer room along with storage space and a restroom. It was a sweet, elderly couple who had bought a house recently with the terrace rights. Due to lack of space available in the apartment and living in a joint family setup they did not have a designated space to pray and it was too noisy.

It was an interesting experience to make them understand how technologies had changed and how today we can build a house at a faster pace with limited workforce and with different building materials. While the project was in progress we also added different elements to the terrace to give it a complete, warm design and for them to enjoy their evening cup of tea.

The Lock Company

Completion Time: 10 Days

Key Note: It was a moment of pride when we got this project; the client is the owner of one of the Largest Lock Companies in India. The team had contacted us after visiting and inspecting one of our projects. After a detailed discussion and design formats, we went to inspect the site. The terrace was beautifully designed and many elements like artificial grass, deck area, pergola and an open bar were already constructed.

The client required us to build something which looks like a part of the setting and merges with the surroundings that they had created. This cabin was to be built for the staff and they wanted a simple design but at the same time being cost effective and insulated as it was going to be built on the terrace.

The project had a lot of discussion even after the work had started as all the lines (plumbing, electrical) were already laid, our team also had to carefully lay the plinth to avoid any kind of leakage to the house. The end result was in accordance to the approval of the client.

Completion Time: 10 Days

Key Note: The couple had just become parents and had lack of space on their floor for creating another bathroom which they could give to the nanny as they did not have any available space. They required something simple and functional. They wanted something that would merge with the house and not spoil the aesthetics.

Solution: This was a slightly challenging project, as the house was very old and the drainage pipes and the supply pipelines were in a bad condition. To start with, we did not want to connect the unit directly on the floor level as that could lead to leakage in the future.

We created a plinth and carried out waterproofing for the area. We created a totally separate pipeline and drainage system for the new bathroom which had no connection to the old ones. We used natural light wood pvc paneling on the exterior wall to give it a surrounding.

At the end of the project, we had a happy nanny.

The Warehouse

Completion Time: 8 Days

Key Note: The client owned a big buying house and needed space for storing leather apparels. The only available space they had was on the terrace of a building that was 6o feet high. They thought it was very challenging for us to install our customized panels on that height. They also had concerns on the heat aspect as the material had to be stored in a cool and dry place so that they do not get damaged.

We also had a tight timeline and we could only operate once the office hours were over. Also, they wanted a solution where the cabin is not attached to the floor level and did not want to create the platform in bricks and mortar

Solution: We designed the cabin space for them and the material that we would be using to create the storage space for them which would surface all their requirements. We created a Mild Steel Grid platform for the floor structure and raised it by 4 inches from ground level; interlocking PUF insulated panels were used for the roof and the walls, which are light in structure. These panels help in maintaining the temperature and are light in structure therefore easy to install on high buildings.

Key Note: It was an honor for us to work on this project, as the client was an ex-army officer. He had just bought a house in Delhi but due to lack of space he needed some solution to be provided for where his old memories like clothes, achievements, furniture etc could be stored.

Solution: We designed a small store room on the terrace along with a shed area for him to enjoy his evening cup of tea. It was a great learning experience working for him as he told us all about his past experiences of serving the army along with some tricks on how to manage time, people and create a balance In life and find happiness in small things.

Key Note:  The site was situated in front of the beautiful green belt area in Panchsheel enclave. The client, a lawyer, wanted to create an office space for himself along with an outside lounge area. We designed the doors and the windows in a way that the green belt is visible. The outside area was constructed using M.S Metal for the shed area along with wooden decking wood for the base platform. A lot of ideas and inputs were given by the client while creating this beautiful space inside out. The interior walls were covered with some beautiful art pieces and wall décor.

Key Note: The client was a close friend, after a casual discussion regarding the empty space that he had on his terrace which he had not visited for years now, we suggested him to create a 1 bhk apartment and create a rental income. He showed interest in the idea but had a minimum budget, we designed a basic apartment using materials and finishing’s that would fall in the budget.

We completed the project in 15 days including a basic pantry, furniture and lighting. After the handover, in a matter of a week the apartment was put on rent. We were asked to visit the site again; the client now wants to further add more elements in the cabin so that he can get a higher rent on his next tenant.
